Getting Your School Started
Setting up IB Marker for your school is straightforward. Here's how to get started:
1
Request School Access
Contact us through the school registration form or email. Provide your school name, IB school code (if applicable), estimated number of students, and subjects of interest.
2
Receive Your School Code
After verification, you'll receive a unique school code. This code is used by students and teachers to link their accounts to your school's subscription.
3
Distribute to Staff & Students
Share the school code with your IB coordinators and teachers. They can then distribute it to students during signup or account setup.
4
Start Using IB Marker
Students create accounts and enter the school code. They immediately get access to all premium features. No approval workflow needed.
Verification Required
To protect against misuse, we verify all school requests before issuing codes. This typically takes 1-2 business days. Have your official school email ready for verification.
Managing School Codes
Your school code is the key to your subscription. Here's how to manage it effectively:
How School Codes Work
-
Unique to Your School
Each school receives a unique code that identifies their subscription. Codes are case-insensitive and typically 6-8 characters.
-
No User Limits
Your school code can be used by unlimited users within your subscription tier. You don't need to pre-register each student.
-
Instant Activation
When a user enters a valid school code, their account is immediately upgraded to school access level with all premium features.
Keeping Your Code Secure
While school codes aren't passwords, you should still manage them responsibly:
- Only share codes with verified students and staff
- Don't post codes publicly on websites or social media
- Request a new code if you believe it has been compromised
- Periodically audit active users in your school dashboard
Code Compromise
If you suspect unauthorized use of your school code, contact us immediately. We can issue a new code and review account activity.

Best Practices for Schools
Based on our experience with schools, here are recommendations for getting the most out of IB Marker:
Onboarding Students
1
Introduce in Class
Have teachers demonstrate IB Marker during class time so students see how it works and understand its value.
2
First Assignment
Assign 2-3 practice questions as homework to ensure all students set up accounts and try the platform.
3
Discuss AI Feedback
Help students understand how to interpret and learn from the AI feedback they receive.
Encouraging Regular Use
- Set expectations - Recommend 2-3 practice sessions per week
- Use gamification - Highlight school leaderboards and badge achievements
- Review progress - Periodically discuss dashboard insights with classes
- Tie to curriculum - Suggest specific topics after related lessons
Supporting Struggling Students
Use the teacher dashboard to identify students who may need additional help:
- Students with low practice frequency may need motivation
- Students struggling with specific topics may need targeted intervention
- Review common weaknesses to inform whole-class instruction
