Class Management

Create classes, invite students, and manage enrollment with IB Marker's class management tools.

Creating Classes

Classes are the foundation of your teaching workflow. Each class gets a unique code that students use to join.

Navigate to Classes

From your Teacher Dashboard, click on "Classes" in the navigation menu.

Click "Create New Class"

This opens the class creation form.

Enter Class Name

Give your class a descriptive name (e.g., "Biology HL - Period 3" or "Year 12 Chemistry").

Get Your Class Code

A unique class code is automatically generated. Share this code with your students so they can join.

Class Features

Unique Class Codes

Each class gets an auto-generated unique code that students use to join your class.

Edit Class Names

Update class names anytime without affecting the class code or enrolled students.

Multiple Classes

Create as many classes as you need for different subjects, periods, or year groups.

Safe Deletion

Delete classes you no longer need, with confirmation showing student count.

Inviting Students

There are multiple ways to get students into your class.

Option 1: Share the Class Code

The simplest method is to share your class code with students:

  • Display the code on your classroom board
  • Include it in a welcome email or announcement
  • Add it to your course syllabus

Students enter the code when they sign up or in their settings to join your class.

Option 2: Email Invitations

Send invitations directly through the platform:

Open Your Class

Navigate to the class you want to add students to.

Click "Invite Students"

This opens the invitation form.

Enter Email Addresses

Type or paste student email addresses. The system supports bulk entry for multiple students.

Send Invitations

Students receive an email with instructions to join your class.

School Email Integration

When typing student emails, the system auto-suggests addresses from your school domain for faster entry.

Managing Enrollment

Track and manage student enrollment status throughout the year.

Student Status Types

  • Active

    Student is enrolled and participating. They can access all class assignments and practice.

  • Pending

    Student has been invited but hasn't accepted yet. Send a reminder if needed.

  • Inactive

    Student hasn't engaged recently. They still have access but may need encouragement.

  • Dropped

    Student has been removed from the class. They no longer have access to class content.

Managing Students

Update Status

Change a student's enrollment status as their situation changes.

Remove Students

Remove students who have left the class or transferred.

View Roster

See all enrolled students with their status and last activity date.

Bulk Actions

Invite multiple students at once using the bulk invitation system.

Class Analytics

Track your class's performance with aggregate statistics and trends.

Class Average

Overall average score across all students and assignments.

Completion Rates

Percentage of students completing assignments on time.

Improvement Trends

See how class performance changes over time.

Difficulty Areas

Identify topics where students commonly struggle.

Individual Progress

Click on any student to access their individual progress report:

  • Assignment history with scores
  • Practice activity and engagement
  • Subject strengths and weaknesses
  • Comparison to class average

What Teachers Can See

  • Progress Data for Your Students

    View scores, completion rates, and performance trends for students enrolled in your classes.

  • Assignment Submissions

    View submitted work for assignments you created, including AI feedback.

  • Aggregate Statistics

    Class-level analytics like averages, completion rates, and common difficulty areas.

What Teachers Cannot See

  • Practice Session Details

    Individual answer content during free practice is private. Only assignment submissions are visible.

  • Other Teachers' Students

    You can only view data for students enrolled in your own classes, not those of other teachers.

Student Privacy Protected

IB Marker is designed with privacy in mind. Students can practice freely knowing their exploration is private, while teachers get the insights needed for effective instruction.
